The Group of Twenty(G-20)

The Group of Twenty, commonly known as G-20, is an international forum consisting of the world's twenty leading economies, including nineteen countries and the European Union. It was established in 1999 to promote international financial stability and address global economic challenges. Since then, the G-20 has expanded its scope to address a wide range of global issues, including climate change, cybersecurity, global health, and inequality.

India assumed the chairmanship of G-20 in 2020, which is a significant responsibility and opportunity for the country to contribute to the global discourse on critical issues.

India's Chairmanship of G-20

 India's G-20 presidency had three main themes: "Building a People-Centered, Inclusive and Sustainable World," "Enhancing Global Action on Climate Change, Environment and Energy," and "Creating a Future of Shared Prosperity, Innovation, and Technological Change."


India's leadership during the G-20 presidency was marked by several achievements. India initiated discussions on several critical issues, such as the digital economy, climate change, and global health, and emphasized the need for collective action to address these issues. India's approach was centered on inclusiveness, with a focus on the participation of women, youth, and marginalized communities in the decision-making process.
